Category: THE SPLITTING OF THE MIND AND THE IDENTITY CRISIS

66 One Heart, One Vision

God said:“You were born attached to your mothers so that you could dis-attach yourself and learn your Oneness with Me.
You don’t have to go anywhere.
You do not have to distance yourself. You separate to learn there is no separation.”
HL 1

“It is not necessary to seek for what is True, but it is necessary to seek for what is false.Your Self does not need salvation, but your mind needs to learn what salvation is. You are not saved from anything, but you are saved for glory.” ACIM 16:6, 11:4

43 An Eye for an I (2) : The Proof is in the Proof

God said: “Revolution is revolving. Revelation is revealing. Aren’t they the same? Life does seem to revolve around you, doesn’t it? It is like you watch yourself revolve. What are you revolving around? You may think you are settling down, and then the unsettling comes.”HL 4818 ℑ

Now we understand better why I am is always seeking proofs of itself to feel consistent and complete. The proof is what links love and truth even when they have been virtually separated and conceiled by the split mind. It should be called the proof by 1/One.

42 An Eye for an I (1)

“You and I are mirages who perceive themselves, and the sole magical machinery behind the scenes is perception — the triggering, by huge flows of raw data, of a tiny set of symbols that stand for abstract regularities in the world. Douglas Hofstader, “I am a Strange Loop”

The idea of ego stresses our sense of duality and torture, making us believe that we can more easily grasp the ego by giving it a name that is not “I”. Identify the ennemy, the virus. But isn’t the “I” ego’s supreme disguise? Let’s have an eye on this tricky “I”.

26 Time Is Ego

“Delay does not matter in eternity, but it is tragic in time. You have elected to be in time rather than eternity, and therefore believe you are in time. Yet your election is both free and alterable.” ACIM 5-6

We have acknowledged that it is more and more difficult to draw a clear distinction between mind and matter. That matter itself might be a projection of the mind. But how could it be so?

If time and its correlate, space, are expressions of boundaries, limits, our mind is getting more and more confused if it is perceiving real matter or its own sense of limitation.

25 Atonement and the Unified Field

“God said: I am a memory, a memory re-enlivened, and yet I am an experience, a renewed experience of Oneness.”

We are now well aware of the ego but it seems difficult to replace it with something else because we are more aware of our unshared identity than we are aware of our shared one.
An identity has to be eternal otherwise it is meaningless. And in twoness, no real identity can exist. Identity can only exist in oneness. Hence its sharing is its reality.

21 The Impossible Compromise

God said:“You tend to think that where you have been is safe. You don’t even know what safe means. With Me is safety. The Unknown is your haven. But, in truth, there is no Unknown. There is just your fear of stepping forward.” HL 4

Can we learn what truth is from illusions? This is equivalent to ask if we can make illusions real and justify our belief in them? Truth refers only to itself. Perception refers to what is not itself. It refers to what is outside of itself. Oneness is its own meaning without any outside elements to add to its meaning. Its meaning can extend from the inside only.

20 Mind, Body, and Ego

“You made neither yourself nor your function. You made only the decision to be unworthy of both. Yet you cannot make yourself unworthy because you are the treasure of God, and what He values is valuable… Your function is to add to God’s treasure by creating yours.” ACIM VIII-149

God said:“You have been scammed. You have been led to believe that you can’t live without your body. You appear in the world as a body. Your body is like a bottle that holds the perfume. The bottle is not the perfume. It is the container of it. It is only a bottle. Ah, but what the body encloses, the essence of you is far, far more than a body.” HL 3748

12 Securing, Directing and Supporting Oneself

“”Do not be afraid of the ego. It depends on your mind, and as you made it by believing in it, so you can dispel it by withdrawing belief from it.
…The more you learn about the ego, the more you realize that it cannot be believed. The incredible cannot be understood because it is unbelievable.”
ACIM 7-8

Even if the ego is not real, only virtual, it can simulate and impose its reality, its make-believe reality by making our mind believe that this mind of ours is non-existent. If we then believe in the ego, if we support it, it will ensure its continuance.
The boomerang of giving: giving something is how we keep it.

7 A Coincidence of Identities. The Magic of Refraction.

God said:“How strange that you in your fantastic body do not recognize Me in supposed others and in your errant self, when, all along, you are Myself!” HL 4387

Belief is linked to perception through the body while the Truth is linked to the soul. We apparently have a double identity. But one of them is just a refracted image and that is the one we believe in.

4 “Peace begins with me”: Ho’oponopono and Self I-D-entity

Healing mentally ill criminals in prison without even seeing any of them.

In Hawaii, at the Hawaii State hospital, there is a therapist, Dr. Ihaleakala Hew Len,  who cured a whole ward of mentally ill criminals at a distance only by studying their inmate’s chart. He never tried to see the inmates personally. And these inmates were extremely aggressive to the point that the people working in this prison were terrified to go to work.

In Ho’oponopono, the healer proceeds to clear the past of the ill person by clearing the past of the healer.
